15th Annual Conference for Plastics Additives and Compounding to Focus on Efficiency and Cost Savings

19/05/2009

iSmithers, formerly the Information division within independent testing, research and consulting organisation Smithers Rapra, will host its fifteenth annual Addcon conference on 20-21 October in Cologne.

Given the current economic climate, the 2009 conference is dedicated to the theme of soundly based economic plastic additive technology, iSmithers officials said. The global additives market is under increased pressure for improvements in efficiency, performance and cost savings. Profitability – and survival – will depend on the careful use of polymer additives and their effective incorporation into end products.

With some of the world’s leading materials manufacturers and compounders already confirmed to attend, this event will provide an excellent platform for knowledge transfer and for setting up new business deals. Representatives from DuPont, Rio Tinto Minerals, Arkema, Thermofisher Scientific and Hybrid Plastics Inc will be presenting papers at the conference with topics ranging from ultrafine talcs for low temperature high impact PP compounds to permanent antistatic agents and their use in multilayer structures.

All registrations received by 7 August will qualify for a €300 discount on the conference fee. For more information about this conference please contact Alix Reeves, areeves@ismithers.netwww.polymerconferences.com  ; the full conference programme can be downloaded from

Attendees have returned year on year to hear the cutting edge case studies on plastics additives, performance, processing and applications that have established Addcon as Europe’s leading conference for the plastic additives and compounding industry. Now in its fifteenth year, the conference provides arguably the best forum to learn about quickly changing technical and market developments in the global plastics industry.
