Smithers Rapra a subsidiary of U.S.-based independent testing, research and consulting organization, The Smithers Group, looks forward to its third nanopolymers conference after the popularity of its conference in Frankfurt this October.

Over two days, a prestigious panel of speakers delivered presentations on the latest developments in the fast evolving field of nanopolymers. The first day welcomed representatives from Bayer, Lux Research, Nanocyl SA and Fudan University who, amongst others, educated the delegates on market trends, processing improvements and nano-scale property enhancement.

A popular and well attended drinks reception closed the first day which saw the exchange of many business cards and led to potential new working partners.

The final day of the conference saw presentations from BASF, Nanocomposites Inc, Pirelli Tyre SpA, Nanotechnology Industries Association, University of Perugia and the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences continue discussing processing improvements of nanopolymers and then highlight specific applications.

With the overall conclusion to the conference highlighting that nanotechnology and nanopolymers are going to be increasingly used in commercial products, this conference was well timed, well attended and well received by the industry.
